Home/Selection Guides
Plan Before You Build.
A few measurements and a closer look at your space can make product selection more straightforward. Start with these guides, then check the instructions and specifications for the exact model you are considering.
Fence Repair: What to Check First
Start by understanding the condition of the existing fence. A repair product must match both the dimensions and the problem; it cannot make every damaged structure suitable for continued use.
- Identify the affected area. Look at the post, its base, the connected rails, and the surrounding fence. If the cause or extent of damage is unclear, obtain an appropriate assessment before selecting hardware.
- Measure the actual post. Record its width and depth rather than relying only on a size label.
- Check the installation space. Note the base material, nearby obstacles, and whether the selected product can be installed as instructed.
- Review the entire kit. Identify included fasteners, required tools, and any additional materials.
- Choose repair only where suitable. If the existing components cannot support the specified repair, replacement or another approach may be needed.
Use the selected model’s installation instructions for the work itself.

The right enclosure arrangement depends on your dog as well as your yard. Height alone does not determine suitability.
- Consider behavior. Think about jumping, climbing, digging, chewing, and pushing against barriers.
- Compare gaps and dimensions. Review panel height, spacing, bottom gaps, and gate dimensions for the exact model.
- Plan the internal area. Use the illustrated permitted layout and its usable space, allowing room for your intended supervised activities.
- Check the surface and fixing method. Confirm that the installation approach suits the ground or surface you plan to use.
- Plan access and inspection. Keep the gate accessible and check connections and closures before use.
A playpen is not a substitute for supervision or for an enclosure appropriate to your dog’s individual needs.
